The Davos Week, Day by Day
The week has a rhythm. What each day is really for — and when the conversations that matter actually happen.
Davos has a shape, and reading it is an edge. Monday is setup: the national and academic houses open first and are at their most receptive, and the week's early introductions are made before the pace builds.
Tuesday the corporate houses hit their stride and the week's narratives get set. Wednesday is the peak — the busiest day, and the one where the defining dinners happen. If a room matters, it is likely Wednesday, and the marquee events collide by design.
By Thursday fatigue sets in and the real operators move behind closed doors; the open programme thins. Friday is the exodus — conversations turn less transactional and more reflective as delegations head for the train.
Two rules cut across all of it. First, pre-event networking beats in-situ networking every time — the value is created when the invitation is arranged, not in the room. Second, follow up fast: the useful window closes within about 48 hours, and a contact's half-life fades after 72. Leave Davos with a plan for the week after, not just a stack of cards.
