Davos 2027: Dates & How the Week Works
When the 2027 Annual Meeting runs, what actually happens across the week, and the practical timeline for planning a trip around it.
The World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting 2027 is scheduled for January 18 – 22, 2027 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland — a Monday-to-Friday week, as it is most years. Those five days are the official programme inside the Congress Centre, but for most of the tens of thousands who travel to Davos the meaningful week is a little wider: people arrive over the weekend before, and the surrounding programme of houses, dinners and receptions is already running by the time the first official session opens.
It is worth being precise about what 'Davos' means, because two events share the name. There is the Annual Meeting itself — the badged, invitation-only forum the WEF convenes — and there is the far larger unofficial week that fills the town around it. You do not need to be inside the first to take part in the second; the badge question is explained in Davos badges and access, decoded, and the ecosystem of open events in the side-event playbook.
The week has a reliable shape. It opens with 07:30 breakfasts — often the most substantive rooms of the day — moves through morning panels and masterclasses, turns to lunch forums as the main networking vehicle around midday, and resolves into receptions and dinners from late afternoon until late at night. Monday is setup and early introductions; Wednesday is the peak, with the defining dinners; by Friday the town empties as delegations head for the train. Our guide to the Davos week, day by day walks through the rhythm in detail.
Most of what happens off the Congress floor happens in the houses — the country pavilions, thematic hubs and media studios that take over the town — and along the Promenade that connects them. To picture the scale and cast, our archive of the 2026 week records the events, venues and speakers from the most recent edition; the communities that convene each January are a good way to find your people before you arrive.
The planning timeline runs backwards from those January dates. Lock accommodation nine to six months out — the best of it is committed by the middle of the preceding year, as our guide to when to book for Davos 2027 explains. Confirm event access and any hosting plans three to four months out, and settle travel and logistics in the final month; the routes from Zurich are covered in getting to Davos and on our getting-here page.
A note on dates: the Annual Meeting's week can shift, and the surrounding programme is organised independently of the official schedule. Treat January 18 – 22, 2027 as the anchor to plan around, and confirm the specifics of any individual event with its own host as the week approaches.
